Family Law Attorney — Remote (Florida)
The Mint Law Firm is seeking a family law attorney with at least five years of exclusive family law experience to handle document drafting and case management. The position is remote, but the candidate must be able to attend hearings in Polk and Hillsborough Counties.
How our approach is different:
• You work remotely; there is no requirement to sit in an office.
• You cover hearings on your own cases, whether in person or virtual.
• You are not expected to generate business or do client development. Your job is managing and moving your cases forward.
• You will start as a 1099 independent contractor until you have a full docket or are billing 112 hours per month.
• At 112 hours per month with good work product, you will transition to salary as a W-2 employee.
Duties:
• Case management: Building gradually to a caseload of 45–55 family law cases.
• Document drafting: Motion practice, plus preparation and review of Florida family law pleadings and forms.
• Hearings: You must attend the hearings on your own cases. Our docket is busy and coverage from other attorneys is not always possible.
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
• Admission to The Florida Bar
• Minimum five years' experience in family law
• Clean disciplinary record
• Able to attend hearings in Polk and Hillsborough Counties
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Availability during normal business hours (M–F, 9–5) for virtual client meetings
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Teams
• Experience with Clio is a plus
Compensation:
• $75 per hour as a 1099 independent contractor, transitioning to a W-2 base salary of $120,000 with a 1,350-hour annual billable requirement
• Productivity-based bonuses once certain hours are met
• Technology reimbursement once certain hours are met
• CLE reimbursement once certain hours are met
