Role & Responsibilities The responsibilities and duties described here are representative of those a Group Fitness instructor must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned. General Responsibilities Serve as an Instructor and provide members an amazing Group Fitness experience. Engage in marketing and social media outreach and participate in events to gain a loyal following of Chelsea Piers Fitness members. Act as a Brand Ambassador for Chelsea Piers Fitness. Provide excellent customer service, externally and internally. Participate in special and member events as scheduled, virtually and in-person. Maintain operations protocols in classes. Complete all administrative requirements associated with class preparation. Qualifications 500-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) certification required: Combination of one 200-hour YTT certification AND one 300-hour YTT certification. Or, one 500-hour YTT certification. Yoga Alliance RYS (Registered Yoga School) preferred. YTT certifications must be yoga-specific. Meditation, breathwork, Reiki or other adjacent modalities do not qualify. Minimum 1 year experience teaching fitness classes. CPR & AED Training. At least 2 years of teaching group fitness classes preferred. High-energy, personable and passion for fitness with a team-first mentality. Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Teams. Strong communication skills. Reliability. Work Schedule Must have the flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule including weekend, holiday and early morning/midday/late evening weekday availability.
